PAGHOLZ®-the transformation of a material
In an area between the processing of wood and plastic material,technology has developed a new prouduct The ma-terial wood is transformed in a way that it crosses the bounds of another material, plastics,and as a final product it combines optimal properties.
Amongst timbers,beech is particularly suitable because of its fine structure, its Capability of absorbing impregnating solutious and its hardness. Beech wood is cut into thin veneers of less than 0.5mm thickness.These veneers are necessary to obtain the ideal saturation with synthetic resins specially developed in our own chemical works of the Rutgers group.The impregnated veneers are then moulded unber high pressure and heat into a high density composite.
A typical feature of PAGHOLZ® parts is the beauty of the individual wood grain as naturally grown.This individuality of the grain of PAGHOLZ® products is preservcd in the middle brown colours as well as in the specially coloured and dark shades.
The three-dimensional formation is obtained by special preparation of the materials as well as by highly developed tool technique.In the seating fumiture field,the very high demands of orthopaedists and ergonimsts can be met.this know-how is acknowledged by numerous internationl patents.

Why is PAGHOLZ® SO RESISTANT?
PAGHOLZ® is a unique compound of natural wood and synthetic resin.Thin beech veneers are impregnated with special synthetic resins.which have been developed in our own chemical works of the Rutgers group.The impregnated veneers are then moulded together under high pressure and heat, because of the high compression during the moulding operation PAGHOLZ® gets the same mechanical and chemical properties from the surface to the core.Thus the PAGHOLZ® seats and bench seats are through and through:
- Impervious to water weather-resistant and frost-stable
- shock scratch break-and wear resistant
- antistatic
- resistant to burning cigarettes according to DIN 53799
- special fire retardent quality according to DIN 4102 B1
